Edinburgh Blues Club Announce Gigs
Edinburgh Blues Club has released its concert schedule for Sept 17 to March 18 and it’s an all-encompassing assortment of top names from around the globe! With artists from the USA, Denmark and Canada as well as the best of the British Blues scene, all supported by emerging Scottish acts, Edinburgh Blues Club has once again proved itself as the hub of live blues in Scotland. Celebrating the new season in style, September sees a hat trick of shows.
First up is seasoned veteran Lucky Peterson showcasing his celebrated contemporary blues. Denmark’s thundering 7-piece outfit Thorbjørn Risager & the Black Tornado make their Scottish debut before Paul Lamb and the Kingsnakes return to show why he is the undisputed master of the blues harmonica.
Rising star of the British blues and roots scene Elles Bailey brings her husky, smoky vocals to Edinburgh for the first time in October.
Edinburgh Blues Club’s winter schedule includes two shows at the 850 capacity venue in the Cowgate, Stramash, for the first time. The first of these is in November, with a rare visit from the USA’s celebrated and soulful Samantha Fish who plays her only Scottish tour date at the club.
Canadian guitarist/singer-songwriter JW Jones brings his hard-working, illustrious band in December before the club returns to Stramash for the unique explosion of blues roots rock that has become the trademark of Grammy award winner Alvin Youngblood Hart with support from British Blues Awards nominees Catfish.
The Sean Webster Band bring their passion and finesse in February and the season is rounded off by USA’s Sari Schorr who delivers her brand of electrifying, hard-driving blues rock in March.
